Prom Dress Code & Guidelines - Clay High School
Dear Student and/or Parents/Guardians:
Prom is a formal and special night for our Clay High School juniors and seniors. We aim to maintain the integrity and formality of this night by implementing a dress code and a code of conduct which align with our normal school policies.
Formal attire is expected of all guests. This may include dresses, suits/tuxedos, shirt and tie, or other formal attire.
Jeans, baseball hats, and t-shirts of any kind are not permitted.
Shirts or dresses must not be cut below the bust line, and should not expose midriff in either front or the back.
Dresses may be strapless or include spaghetti straps, and may also be backless if they are not cut below the naval.
2-piece dresses MUST overlap at the waist: meaning top MUST overlap with skirt waistband.
Dresses must be at least fingertip length when hands are placed at the sides. A slit in the dress must not extend above fingertip length.
Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel is not permitted.
Students in violation of the dress code will NOT be permitted into the dance. If you are bringing a date from another school, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make them aware of our dress code policy.
The following is the Prom Code of Conduct and Expectations. Thank you for your cooperation. CHS promotes responsible behavior.
Students and their guests must present a picture ID at the door or must be able to be identified by a CHS staff member.
Tickets may only be purchased through Hometown Fan. Refunds will not be available within 7 days of the event.
No one will be admitted after 8:00 P.M.
If you forget something in your car, a chaperone may accompany you to get it. Once you leave the Prom, there is NO Re-entry.
Any outside food or drink will be confiscated and not returned. Bags may be subject to search.
Prom is for Clay High School students in the junior and senior class and their guests. All guests must be at least in high school and not above the age of 21 on the date of the prom. Out of school guests must complete the guest form before a ticket may be purchased.
Each student entering the dance agrees to participate in a random selection process for a breathalyzer and/or a metal detector search. Refusal to take part in this process will forfeit that individual’s entry ticket without refund. The random selection process will be uniform for all attendees.
Clay High School will not permit any student into the prom who is under the influence of any substance including alcohol, tobacco, or drugs. This behavior will not be tolerated, as stated by the student handbook. If any chaperone or officer suspects that a student has is under the influence, proper actions will be followed (i.e. calling parents and/or law enforcement). The officers on duty will have a breathalyzer and metal detector on the premises for anyone suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.
There are no refunds for purchased tickets.
